Unnachchai Tank at Batticaloa in Eastern Province

The Remedial works of Unnachchai Tank includes Fabricating and Fixing of 3 Nos. Radial gates and 2 Nos. of Sluice gates, Automation of the total operation system with British Standard (BS) Mechanical and Electrical operation, powered through National grid and Generators.

This project was awarded by DSWRP under the World Bank funds though the Department of Irrigation.

Improvement to Punani Anicut in Vahanery Scheme

The Remedial works of Punani Anicut includes Fabricating and Fixing of 10 Nos. Radial gates, Automation of the total operation system to the British Standard (BS) Mechanical and Electrical operation, powered through National grid and Generators.

This project was awarded by CRiP under the World Bank funds through the Department of Irrigation.

Unnichchai Tank at Batticaloa

The 2.5km long and 32.7m high rolled earth filled embankment was stripped to a depth of 100mm on the downstream face and 26,000m3 of graded sand chimney filter was placed and compacted. Selected 150,000m3 of earthwork was placed thereon, watered and compacted to raise the embankment by 1.3m to a height of 34m.

3,000m3 coarse graded material was placed and compacted as toe filter for the embankment.The balance 37,000m2 of the downstream surface of the embankment was strip turfed and watered till it took roots 60,000m2 of damaged upstream rip-rap was rectified and new rip-rap placed.

Remedial works of Muthiyankaddu Dam in Mullaitivu District

The purpose of this project is to rehabilitate and upgrade the dam safety and the operational efficiency with the use of improved technology.This project is implemented under the Dam Safety and Water Resources Planning Project (DSWRPP), funded by the World Bank and the Irrigation Department of Sri Lanka.

The main scope of Works includes construction of augmentation of the bund, spillways, abutments, ogee over flow spillways and design, fabrication and installation of four numbers of electro mechanical operated radial gates and all other related works.
