Anchorage Facility at Maradana Landing Site in Beruwala

The project was proposed to construct a new fishery harbor at Maradana – Beruwala having capacity of 400 one-day and multi-day boats which was consisting a 240m long breakwater and 50m long groyne.

60,000 ton of rock was used for the construction work and it was included a 20,000m3 dredging work too.

Construction of Habour for Yachts in Port of Galle

The objective of the project is Construction of Grades Rock Revetment for the proposed Yacht Marina at Port of Galle. The major works is to construct 145m long revetment including crown wall on the top of the revetment as well as 2 major retaining walls either side of the revetment to protect the section of the revetment.

Dewatering for construction of side Retaining wall to the revetment was a major challenge since the retaining wall base level went down to -4.5m MSL. The Method used was considered successful as we constructed a better quality revetment with a cost saving.

Construction of Fishery Harbour Puranawella

The work involved the rehabilitation of rubble mound breakwaters, construction of quay walls using caissons, revetments, slipways and dredging the harbor basin and the entrance. The debris at the harbor basin was removed with the barge mounted excavator to facilitate the dredging by the cutter suction dredger. Under water rock blasting was carried out (10,500m3) in deepening the harbor basin and the mouth so that the boats with larger draught could safely enter the harbor for anchoring, maintenance and repair.

Fishery Harbour Project Negombo

The main work consisted of the construction of a 45m long gabion quay wall to enhance the berthing facilities for fishery boats in the Negombo harbour.This was successfully completed well ahead of the schedule.
